About This Tour

With our guide Louise, take a stroll through the historic streets of the Merchant City and dive into the incredible stories of Glasgow’s game-changing women. From bold suffragettes and witches to fearless local legends and fiery freedom fighters, this tour brings the city’s past to life, with plenty of surprises along the way!

Explore the roots of Glasgow’s first women’s societies, early suffragette meetings, and the pivotal role women played in social justice movements, from abolition to civil rights and beyond. You’ll also learn about Glasgow’s connections to the transatlantic slave trade and the women and men who challenged injustice then and now.
