Five of the best cafes in Oban
We’ve blogged on Oban before, covering our favourite things to do within the seaside town. Today, we decided to focus on our favourite cafes the town has to offer – we hope we inspire you to visit a couple!
1. Julie’s Coffee Shop
It is always a promising sign when a cafe is popular not just with tourists but with the locals, too. This one might be lacking in size, but it isn’t lacking in atmosphere. In terms of food, the cakes in particular look delicious… And if it is a sunny day, why not sit outside and watch the world go by?!

2. Oban Chocolate Company
Winning various accolades throughout the years, this is the place to go for the chocoholic in your life. All sorts of chocolate delights await you here, from waffles to hot chocolate to cakes.
Much to my disappointment, I’ve yet to try the delicacies in person – this cafe opened a few days after I left Oban!

3. Food from Argyll at the Pier
Just before you catch a ferry, make sure to stop here for a quick bite to eat. What you’ll immediately notice upon entering is how friendly staff members are. Food-wise, the tattie scones are probably the most popular thing you’ll find here. However, I would recommend the cheesy chips – I used to have them a lot when living in Oban!
