Hi we’re Liv and Jenny, we founded this small business in 2017, because we understand how important it is to meet and spend time with a local when you visit a new place. We initially took the tours ourself, before expanding into a group of guides, each who bring their own spin to the tours.

In each place, all of our guides are guides because they are passionate about the city and they want to share its beauty with you! Our guides come from all walks of life, and all have their own unique experiences of their hometown, which is what makes every tour unique. We hope to see you on one of our tours soon.

We don’t just offer your standard history tours, we have unique experiences too! You can book any day from now until the end of 2026.

MEET OUR TEAM

FREDDIE

Hello! I’m Freddie, a professional golfer who has lived in St Andrews since 2013.

Originally from Essex, England, I studied psychology at the University of St Andrews between 2013-17, and have been a St Andrews Links Caddie ever since applying for the job in my first University summer.

After many years of living the St Andrews life, I find myself deeply embedded within the ways of the Auld Grey Toon, and the St Andrews Links in particular. I look forward to sharing my experiences with you!

JOHN

Hi there my name is John and after having a holiday home here for some 15 years on my retirement in 2016 I moved permanently, and it’s without doubt one of the best things I have ever done. The town is simply exceptional for its coastal beauty, being the home of golf, its University life and the intriguing part it played in Scottish history , and I now get to walk and talk about it to the towns many interested visitors.

Hello! I’m Carol and I feel very lucky to live in the beautiful town of St Andrews. I love everything to do with history and golf and there is always something new to learn! I hope to see you on a tour soon and I look forward to showing you around St Andrews.

Hi – I’m Judith and I have lived in and around St Andrews for the last 10 years. I have a passion for history and for art, and particularly love the character and wealth of history that can be found in this small but beautiful old town. I’m still exploring, and hope to share some of my discoveries with you!

Whether it’s tracing medieval footsteps, admiring architecture, or sharing local legends, I’m always excited to help visitors experience the town the way I’ve grown to love it.

Hi, my name is Jamie, and I’d be delighted to welcome you to the beautiful town of St Andrews. I attended high school here in St Andrews before moving to Dundee to study Law at the University of Abertay, Dundee. Despite having moved away, I am lucky that I am able to return to St Andrews so often to share with you its wonderful history, culture, and surroundings.

Hello, and welcome to my home town of St Andrews and, of course, the home of golf. After a career in the world of PR where I travelled to 51 countries, it is a joy and privilege to be home in the East Neuk of Fife. I look forward to sharing with you my passion for all things golf and golf history, along with some personal recollections from my time volunteering at and playing our Grand Old Lady, the Old Course, St Andrews.

Hi! I’m Connor, a fourth year student studying at St Andrews. I’ve had the pleasure of spending the last few years living in the town and I would love to share it with you. My tour incorporates my experience living in the town as a student and will take us off the beaten track, following the student routes and small alleys around the town. I would love to meet you and to hear about where you’re from too.

FIONA

Hello! My name is Fiona and I am proud Scot, native to the East Coast of Scotland. I’ve studied in England, lived in Germany, had a varied career and I am now delighted to be a member of the Walking Tours team in St. Andrews. I love swimming and paddleboarding and I am a keen cinema goer (and film geek!). I additionally volunteer as museum guide in nearby Dundee. I have links to the kingdom of Fife through my father and my great grandparents come from Strathkinness, just outside of St Andrews.

St Andrews is a great little town that packs a big punch which is why I am so passionate about this “auld grey toun”. I have been coming here as long as I remember. Playing on the West Sands and rocks as a child was a firm favourite as was an ice cream at the famed Jannetta’s. Aside from the natural beauty of the town and the surrounding area, it has history galore, stunning architecture and an amazing golfing heritage as home to the world’s oldest golf course. That’s why I love it! I look forward to welcoming you on to a tour and sharing some of the fantastic sights with you.

Hello, I’m Ken and I am really looking forward to showing you round St Andrews. I settled here some years ago after a career travelling the world, returning to my roots as I come from a long line of Fifers. What I love about St Andrews is that it is crammed full of more history and interest than you would have any right to expect in such a small, walkable place. I’m sure you’ll love it too, it’s a braw wee toon!

ANDREW

Hello, I’m Andrew. It’s a pleasure to offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate more the sights and sounds of golf on the Old Course at St Andrews ,the home of golf. My first game on the Old Course cost just 11 shillings (55 pence in today’s money) and I’ve many experiences in the Auld Grey Toon to share, as well as reminiscences of famous championships held on the links over the last 60 years. Aside from acting as a tour guide, I’m also a part time university lecturer, so I’m used to telling stories as a means of passing on information. I currently reside in Angus, but I’m always happy to revisit old haunts. Both my daughters were at university in the town and thoroughly appreciated their time here. My older girl was Captain of the University Ladies golf team! My in-laws stayed in St Andrews as well, which makes it a home from home.

Hiya, I am Sheila! St Andrews has been my happy place ever since I came here from Glasgow for summer holidays as a child. Now that I’m a local, I feel genuinely lucky to be part of this special town, and I love sharing it with visitors. Whether you’re a golfer or not, there’s always something here worth chatting about as we walk around part of the Old Course.

Welcome to St Andrews! My name is Andy and, as you can see, my best mate is golfing superstar and true top gent, Tommy Fleetwood. Golf is my passion and St Andrews has been in my blood since the day I was born – I’m named after the place after all! Come and join me for a bit of fun on these wonderful links!

Hello! I’m Jane and I’m delighted to be able to share my love of St Andrews and the Home of Golf with you. Although not originally from the town, I have many associations with St Andrews and moved to the area about four years ago. I had been a frequent visitor with my family for as long as I can remember and one of my sons read Medieval History at the University here. I don’t think there is anywhere else quite like St Andrews and I’m sure you will discover that too when you come to visit!

Hi, I’m Diana. As a permanent resident of St Andrews, I’m fortunate enough to play my golf on the links courses in town. I am a retired Craniosacral Therapist, when I worked with families touched by Autism. Other than golf I enjoy cold water swimming and playing Mahjong with friends.
