From witch trials and deadly outbreaks of plague to grave robbing, unsolved murders and notorious local characters, this 1.5 hour walking tour uncovers the darker stories hidden among Stirling’s ancient streets and graveyards.

Explore the Holy Rude Cemetery, hear about the grave robbers who disturbed the dead, and uncover the stories behind Stirling’s witch trials, plague and death. And because this is Halloween, there are a few ghosts and legends along the way too, including the mysterious Green Lady. Some stories are firmly rooted in Stirling’s history, while others have become part of the folklore surrounding our ancient city. Do something different this Halloween!

Dark side of Stirling walking tour

We did the Stirling old town dark side of Stirling walking tour. It was very enjoyable and informative. Our guide Georgia was very informative, knowledgeable and was able to answer all our groups questions. It was well named as the dark side of Stirling tour as some of the tales were gruesome. She was able to point out lots of different points on the landmarks we stopped at along the way. I think it would be good to go back and do the daylight tour and see some more of the interesting landmarks during the day.

Fun and informative tour even if you are a local. The tour guide had so much knowledge of the history of Stirling and the old town. Worth the money.

Dark Side Tour Brilliant

We did the Dark Side Tour which was an evening tour from 6.30 to 8.00 and was very interesting and informative. Great way to spend a few hours on a Saturday night doing something different. Highly recommend even my 17 year old daughter enjoyed it.
