Our Halloween tour returns to uncover the darker side of Inverness… a history of murder, punishment, superstition, prophecy and bloody conflict. From public beheadings at the High Church to the mysterious Brahan Seer and stories of malicious fairies, this 1.5 hour walking tour reveals a side of Inverness that’s rarely seen.
Follow in the footsteps of murderers, executioners and those caught up in some of the city’s most turbulent moments. Discover the history behind Blackfriars Graveyard and the Old High Church Cemetery, hear tales of bloody castle sieges, and uncover the strange stories that have become part of Inverness’ folklore. Along the way, your local guide will separate historical events from the legends and supernatural stories that have been passed down through generations, including the mysterious “women in the mirror” at Eden Court.
